KBA's Kansas Ag Bankers (KAB) Division is dedicated to supporting and promoting the agricultural banking industry in Kansas. Led by a board of directors comprised of 13 ag-lending professionals from across Kansas, the KAB Division is focused on providing first-class educational opportunities for agricultural bankers, as well as providing much-needed financial support for youth and adult leadership organizations that promote Kansas agriculture and rural Kansas communities.
Each year, the KAB Division hosts the Kansas Agricultural Bankers Conference; recognized as one of the top agricultural banking conferences in the nation. From federal farm policy updates to crop and livestock market reports to best management practices for ag lenders, this conference provides the information and knowledge sought by the modern agricultural lender. In addition to the annual conference, the KAB Division also endorses and supports other KBA-hosted training opportunities including Ag Risk Management Seminars and Ag Loan Document Preparation Seminars.
A variety of important youth and adult leadership development programs are financially supported by the KAB Division. Youth across the state benefit from KAB support for FFA, 4-H and the Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom. KAB Division support doesn't stop with youth programs. The Kansas Agricultural Rural Leadership (KARL) program and Kansas PRIDE, Inc. are examples of the KAB Division's support for enhancing adult leaders in rural Kansas communities.
Through its direct relationship with the Kansas Bankers Association, the KAB Division is able to maintain a watchful eye on agricultural policy ranging from development of the Farm Bill in Congress to water policy proposals considered by the Kansas Legislature. KAB Division representatives serve on KBA's Board of Directors as well as KBA Federal and State Affairs Committees. Looking out for the interests of the Kansas agricultural lender and their customers will always be a priority for KBA's Kansas Ag Bankers Division.
